The Merritt Bookstore in Millbrook has undergone extensive renovations to its main space and upstairs gallery and is expanding its book selections and product lines under new owner Kira Wizner.

“I am thrilled to be at the helm of the store,” says Wizner, a former English teacher. “Alison Meyer, the wife of the store’s founder, Scott Meyer, who passed away this past summer, and the wonderful staff are all still working here.” Alison Meyer is the primary liaison for the eighth annual Millbrook Literary Festival, which will be held at the Millbrook Library on May 21.

The store offers a full selection of new releases and classics for readers of all ages, as well as toys, games, puzzles, cards, stationery and gift wrap. It takes special orders over the phone, in person and online, typically with a one- to two-day turnaround. It also offers custom services for gifting, personal libraries and schools.
