Mariandale Center’s New Name Reflects Broader Mission: The center will hold an October 15 benefit

This fall, the Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center in Ossining will change its name to the Mariandale Center, to reflect its broader, more inclusive vision for future programs and events. In coordination with the change, the center will hold an October 15 benefit, Autumn’s Invitation: Echoes and Ecos(ystems) on the River.
“Autumn’s Invitation is for the local community to celebrate echoes from the past at Mariandale, the land and the river, and our thriving ecosystem and future at Mariandale,” says the center’s director, Jane Hanley.
The event will feature live music, a silent auction, a quilt sale and show and seasonal refreshments. Tickets can be reserved in advance for $15 at Mariandale.org/AutumnsInvitation.
As part of its broader mission, the Mariandale Center introduced writing workshops this year and will offer several this fall, from day and overnight programs to a weekend Life Writing/Memoir retreat. Topics include memoir writing, journaling, poetry and prose. A new series, Writing Tuesdays, will be offered for six afternoons in September and October. Other fall offerings will include group and individual spiritual direction, private and directed retreats, and wellness services such as massage, healing energy and other modalities.
The center continues to offer popular programs like Introduction to Meditation and Buddhism II, Aging Contemplatively, Dances of Universal Peace, Qigong, Chakra and Energy Healing, Dominican Views of Evolution and Eco-Spirituality, Tai Chi, Yoga, Jungian-Christian Response to our Political Chaos, a convocation on environmental activism, celebrations of the autumn equinox and winter solstice, Advent programs, a Holiday Heirlooms retreat for crafters and quilters and Catholic-Lutheran Unity Day on September 30.
The Mariandale Center is located at 299 N. Highland Ave., Ossining, NY. To see the full program calendar, register or donate, visit Marindale.org.
