Expressive Dance at Sacred Spirit Yoga

Lucia Rich

Sacred Spirit Yoga and Healing Arts Center, in Dobbs Ferry, is offering an Expressive Dance Night—Dancing Home—with Lucia Rich from 6 to 7 p.m., June 7, 2024. Participants should arrive by 5:45 p.m. to warm up. The event is open to adults 18 and up, and no dance experience is necessary.

“This class offers a space to unwind, shake loose what is stuck and step back into connection with your best self,” says Rich. “Organic movement and curated music lead the way in this free-form, movement-based process with guided instruction. There are no choreographed moves, no right way to do it. Each session is unique to you and your body’s intrinsic movements.”

Sacred Spirit is a nonprofit, interfaith community with a goal to create a sacred space for seekers yearning to deepen their connection to soul, to spirit, to life and to the moment. Their vision includes classes in yoga and movement, influenced by the Kripalu tradition; meditation and contemplative practices; live music; comparative spiritual exploration; holistic health and energy healing; mythic/archetypal self-development; and arts and creativity.

Rich, a lifelong lover of movement, trained professionally in classical, contemporary, improvisational and 5Rhythms dance. She studied 5Rhythms for more than a decade with Melissa Michaels, EdD, and recently completed her SomaSource LifeCycle practitioner training with her. “Come as you are and dance your way home,” Rich enthuses.
